If anybody wanted to forget about things for a little while. Take a balloon ride in the evening. You just drift along
on the winds. My "GPS" read that the balloon was doing about 15 mph. We were at 2200 feet, and the air temperature
was a balmy 75 degrees. Some of the houses we passed over the kids came out pointing up and yelling at us. I was surprised
that you could here them that far up?
We waved back and yelled "Hi!" to them. You could actually hear the kids excitedly tell their parents that we said: "HI!", and waved at "THEM - PERSONALLY". But it seemed that our journey was over to soon. We had floated for about 45 minutes and traveled 11 miles. But since we were running low on fuel we had to land in a farmers field. A farmer and his neighbor had been watching as we got closer and closer to his place. Our pilot yelled down to him and asked him if it was alright to land in his field. The farmer waved us down. Then the farmer and his family and neighbors came out in the field to meet us with smiles and a big "HI!". Soon we were surrounded by people, everbody asking us questions about how our flight was and helping us pack up the balloon in the back of our chase vehicle. But all I could really do was shake my head and smile... ...because one day I was floating on the water, then the next I found myself floating through the air. Unpacking the balloon. ![]() ![]() ![]() Inflatting it. ![]() And were off... ![]() Tranquil.
